January in Jersey!

The New Year brings new adventures, particularly in New Jersey where there’s always something fun to do.
While January is historically chilly in the Northeast, this only means the possibilities are so much greater – especially if you love skiing, crisp morning walks and more.
If you’re looking for a little inspiration, here are three top things to do in January 2015:
Hit the Slopes! New Jersey’s Northern Skylands region offers many winter sports including downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snow boarding and snow tubing.  The mountains with down hill skiing tend to offer night skiing and feature great snow making equipment.
Pop Into a Museum. New Jersey has a HUGE variety of exciting museums. Fill your brain and warm your hands as you make your way through the exhibits! Some popular jaunts include the The New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, The Newark Museum in Neward, The Battleship New Jersey Museum, the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City and the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair.
Celebrate Dr. King. Martin Luther King Day is on the third Monday of the month; this 2015 it falls on January 19th. The day honors the U.S. Civil Rights’ leader and his contributions to the civil rights movement in the United States. Each year, New Jersey plans various events to mark the occasion, you may learn more about happenings here: www.nj.gov/state/programs/dos_program_mlk.html

If you’re visiting from out-of-state or another town, make sure to visit thePreferred Inns of New Jersey to locate an inn near all the activity and make the most of your stay.

And from all of us here… HAPPY NEW YEAR!
