MEET THE INNKEEPERS
Dennis & Nancy Kaloostian
Ocean House, Spring Lake
In her ten years as an innkeeper Nancy Kaloostian has met a lot of people, many of whom have become lifelong friends, and she has had many memorable moments with guests. She tells the story of one young man who was planning to propose to his girlfriend while staying at the inn.
"He called 63 times prior to his arrival -- we counted! -- in order to make sure everything was perfect for his engagement. He asked questions like should he bring his own towels and beach chairs. He even called one time at 1 a.m. and apologized, asking did he need to bring his own pillows!"
Nancy and her coworkers accommodated him and had a good time being partners in his engagement planning. When he finally proposed, he and his fiancé went downstairs for breakfast in the morning and all the guests and staff in the dining room started clapping.
"They came back the next weekend just to take pictures of the inn and our staff and they've come back a few times since," says Nancy.
As do many of the guests who discover the magic of Ocean House.
EAT INN: Pecan Waffles and Cheese-stuffed Mushrooms warm the season!
